字體介紹
一套完整的信息化字庫，不僅要滿足中文部分的字型設(shè)計，還須包括西文及各式各樣的符號。通常而言，字庫西文部分的設(shè)計需根據(jù)中文字形的特點進行匹配，以求達成字庫整體風格上的統(tǒng)一。
因中西方歷史文化差異和書寫習慣的不同，西文字母的造型上與漢字有很大的差異。館閣體是我國特有的小楷書法體，西方并不具備相似筆形特征的字母造型，那么，《五經(jīng)楷書》是如何進行西文匹配的？
《五經(jīng)楷書》并未按照中西文字型近似匹配的常規(guī)思路開展設(shè)計，而是從年代入手，尋找與《五經(jīng)精本》成書同一時期，即19世紀早期的西文排印字體。最終確定以Didot和Bodoni為藍本進行復刻，主要參考的西文古籍包括Code civil des Fran?ais（拿破侖法典）和Manuale-Tipografico（文字編排設(shè)計手冊）等。
五經(jīng)楷書西文的襯線稍粗，字間距稍緊，各個字母的空間分布趨于平衡一致。在保持字形精致優(yōu)雅的同時，對kerning（字偶距）進行了細致調(diào)節(jié)，兼顧篇章布局和內(nèi)文排版。
為適應我國大眾的審美及需求，字體中字母及數(shù)字部分的細節(jié)進行了調(diào)整，例如Q的tail，g的link等。為了適應漢語拼音的寫法，帶銳音符的小寫字母進行了適當修改，拼音字母a提供了替代字形。
